Meeting started at 7:33 pm
Minutes of the February 1, 2012 meeting unanimously approved as written.
Programs: Youth Basketball wrap-up March 3rd.
Adult Basketball ongoing – HS Wednesday, MS Sunday
Yoga – 3rd session continues to March 14th
Yoga – 4th session TBA
Summer Employees and Programs – are in place
Safety Committee: Workplace Safety program has been reformed. Don is the Chairman
Meeting March 6th. Monthly meetings will take place in the beginning, thereafter meetings will be quarterly.
Little League: a $2000. check was given to LL towards purchase of infield machine.
Town Woods Park: trim boards were replaced on building…..waiting to be painted.
Bookworm Ball: Don donated “camperships” for Day Camp, Baseball Camp, Basketball Camp, and Tennis Camp to their fund raiser.
There will be a meeting with Ron Tyler, groundskeeper, for Town Woods Pk on 3/6/12.
Guests were present at this meeting to discuss use of the Town Woods fields for LaCrosse, the condition of the fields since the town stopped any applications of pesticides, upon advice from Pesticide Committee and to find out in which direction the town plans to go in bringing the condition of the fields back. Discussed was the use of herbercides. Bob Dunn, P&R board member and Phil Neaton, Turf Management advisor have resigned from the Town Woods Operating Committee.
Upon the recommendation of Bob Dunn the Commission members voted to put slides used for the presentation to the Board of Finance at their meeting, showing field condition at Town Woods Park, on the Park and Rec web site. Motion made by John Flower, seconded by Bob Dunn. Vote was unanimous.
